David Titus has been an entrepreneur, venture capitalist and civic leader. In September 2014 he joined Cooley LLP as Senior Vice President, Business Development in San Diego. With 800 lawyers across 12 offices in the United States, London and China, clients partner with Cooley on transformative deals, complex IP and regulatory matters, and high-stakes litigation, often where innovation meets the law.
Mr. Titus is co-founder and managing partner of Windward Ventures. The firm invested in 24 Southern California early stage companies, of which three remain active in the portfolio. From 2011 to 2014, he also served as the president of the San Diego Venture Group, a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting the venture capital ecosystem in San Diego. He has been a board member for over 25 companies, including two public companies and is currently Chairman of PerfectForms, Inc.
Mr. Titus is a member of the Board of CONNECT and former officer of the Western Association of Venture Capitalists. He has served as an advisor to numerous business organizations including the San Diego Regional Economic Development Corporation (EDC), Corporate Directors Forum and Alliance Healthcare Foundation. Prior to entering the venture capital business, Titus was a founder and senior vice president of his own start-up, Silicon Valley Bank, where he led the technology division. Mr. Titus has a B.A. in Economics from the University of California, Santa Barbara and is a member of Phi Beta Kappa.
